WellNecessities / Vital Sleep is seeking an experienced Medical Insurance Billing / Authorization Specialist to join our team in Shreveport, LA.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance authorization and verification, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage and eligibility for patients, managing all insurance verifications and prior authorizations, communicating with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies or issues, assisting patients with insurance questions or concerns, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and JCAHO standards, and collaborating with the medical billing team to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
Other related duties may be assigned to meet the organization’s ongoing needs.
- Previous experience in insurance verification or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in insurance authorization and verification
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems
- High School Diploma or equivalent
