Physician Services Coding Specialist II - Remote Radiology

The primary purpose of this role is to code physician charges by assigning ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers from medical record documentation, including evaluation and management coding, radiology, and emergency department coding. The specialist will review and resolve pre-bill edits and coding denials, meet productivity and accuracy standards (95.5% accuracy), and present coding issues to internal and external clients. The position requires knowledge of CCI, LCD, NCD coding rules, third-party reimbursement regulations, and billing practices.

Candidates should have vocational or technical education beyond high school and 3-5 years of coding experience. CPC or CCS-P certification (or equivalent) and proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding rules are required. Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary. The role supports a team environment and requires excellent communication, adaptability, and professionalism.

This position is remote and full-time, with hourly pay ranging from $20.51 to $30.77, with potential eligibility for a signing bonus and holiday pay. Requirements & Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical education beyond high school
  • Minimum 3-5 years coding experience
  • CPC or CCS-P or equivalent certification
  • Multi-specialty Evaluation and Management coding experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, coding rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of third-party reimbursement regulations and billing practices
  • Ability to resolve coding denials and pre-bill coding edits
  • Detail oriented with problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to meet productivity and accuracy standards
