Busy OB/GYN office looking for an experienced Coding Specialist. Position is full-time, in office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities include assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD and CPT codes, ensuring codes are accurate and sequenced correctly per government and insurance regulations, following up with providers on unclear documentation, communicating with clinical staff, searching for information on complex cases, reviewing patient charts and notes for accuracy, and keeping codes current and active.
Associate's Degree in Medical Coding or successful completion of a certification program. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Excellent typing and 10-key speed and accuracy. Commitment to high-level customer service. Superior mathematical skills. Familiarity with ICD-10 codes and procedures. Solid oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of medical jargon and anatomy preferred. Able to work independently.
