Medical Coding Specialist - CPC or CPC-A

Rockville, MD, health insurance consulting firm, is seeking a Medical Coding/Billing Specialist for a full-time, in-office position.

Responsibilities include:

• Typing 30+ words per minute
• Answering and transferring incoming calls
• Computer data entry and calling medical providers and insurance payers
• Claim verification and medical billing
• Greeting and handling walk-in clients, vendors, and deliveries
• Faxing, scanning, and filing documents
• Working independently and with others
• Using Microsoft Office 365

Requirements:

• Typing 30 words per minute or greater
• Two or more years of college; LPN, Associate degree, or equivalent
• Medical terminology experience a plus
• ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding knowledge required
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification encouraged
• Clear verbal and nonverbal communication
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask
• Enjoys working with medical personnel and other professionals
• Knowledge of medical insurance terms helpful
