Certified Medical Coder

DIGESTIVE HEALTH CLINIC

We are seeking a skilled, motivated Certified Professional Coder to work in our Gastroenterology practice. This is an onsite, Monday - Friday position. We will not be hiring anyone for remote work. As a CPC you perform audits on documentation to code to the highest specificity. Review documentation of each office visit or procedure and enter demographic data and code.

You will be required to code in compliance with all laws, regulations, standards, and policy requirements.

Educational requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder required.

Experience requirements:

  • Certified Medical Coding Certificate
  • Minimum 12 months experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Proven understanding of explanation of benefits forms, claim forms, and the insurance billing process.
  • Working knowledge of commercial insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Experience summarizing account status for management.
  • Proven understanding of CPT coding and ICD-10 coding.

Skills:

  • Good communication and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of grammar and spelling.
  • Medical terminology
  • Computer knowledge and typing skills.

This is a full-time, in-office position located in Boise, ID.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder certification required
  • Minimum 1 year medical coding experience preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Understanding of insurance billing process and explanation of benefits
  • Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Strong communication and computer skills
