HIM Specialty ROCC Coder III

The Specialty ROCC Coder III is responsible for abstracting and coding IR/Vascular and Radiation Oncology accounts using ICD-10 CM and CPT codes in compliance with regulatory guidelines. The role involves hospital and professional coding using the 3M encoder and Epic system, physician query communications, production reporting, and participation in performance improvement projects.

Qualified candidates must have completed a 12-month AHIMA approved coding certificate program, possess strong coding skills, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, excellent communication skills, and be credentialed as ROCC, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H. A minimum of two years acute hospital coding experience is required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must have completed a 12-month AHIMA approved coding certificate program. Minimum two years of acute hospital coding experience. Credentialed as ROCC, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and maintain effective working relationships. Customer service skills appropriate to the role.
