This position is full remote near an OSF location and available to candidates in Illinois or Michigan only.
The Lead Coding Specialist oversees the coordination of accurate and compliant coding and charging practices, ensuring adherence to ICD codes, CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines, and governmental or third-party payer policies. The role maintains coding quality and productivity standards for all coded data, acts as a coding expert for the revenue cycle division and facility departments, completes special projects, and provides backup support for all revenue cycle coding positions.
The expected hourly pay range is $29.01 - $34.13, with actual pay determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.

- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certification required: CPC, RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
- Minimum 1 year experience in outpatient or inpatient coding; 3 years preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and modifiers preferred.
