Accounts Receivable Specialist

LittleStar ABA Therapy

The Accounts Receivable Specialist handles all correspondence related to insurance and patient accounts. Responsibilities include contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities to maximize payment, identify issues or changes, and resolve denials.

Key duties:

  • Research and resolve assigned accounts to maximize reimbursement
  • Research and re-bill unpaid claims
  • Prepare paperwork for insurance pre-certification
  • Resolve accounts on Follow-up Reports
  • Make calls to carriers to maximize reimbursement
  • Correct errors on electronic error reports
  • Participate in trainings and meetings with payers and internal teams
  • Identify billing issues and develop resolutions
  • Maintain insurance and client files
  • Provide client support on insurance issues
  • Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA
  • Assist leadership with reports and communications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years insurance experience in medical office preferred
  • Medical billing experience preferred
  • Experience with Practice Management software
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and related technologies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in fast-paced environment

This position operates mainly in office environment with telecommute eligibility up to 60%. Physical demands are typical office related. Background checks and PPE use required.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years' insurance experience in medical office preferred
  • Medical billing experience preferred
  • Experience with Practice Management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
