The Clinical Coding Educator / Coding Educator 2 identifies opportunities to improve provider documentation and creates an education plan tailored to each assigned provider. You will report to the Manager, Medicare Risk Adjustment.
Key responsibilities include arranging educational sessions with assigned providers focused on quality of care and documentation improvements, identifying educational needs based on reports, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations on coding quality trends, risk areas, and educational outcomes using data visualization, providing onsite provider education based on business needs, collaborating with other market provider-facing roles, and using data analytics tools to assess coding quality, identify error patterns, and monitor compliance with standards.
Analyze coding audit results and other relevant data to develop data-driven educational materials and interventions.
Participate in cross-functional teams to improve documentation, data integrity, and workflow processes.
Work from home with occasional travel (up to 5%) to provider offices.
This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.
Compensation range: $59,300 - $80,900 per year, eligible for bonus incentive plans based on performance.

- AHIMA or AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification
- 3+ years of medical coding education and/or auditing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar) and experience interpreting large data sets
- Experience in public speaking, webinars, or presentations with healthcare providers
- Knowledge of Risk Adjustment and coding guidelines
- Residency in NC, SC, GA, VA, MD, or TN
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree
- CRC - Certified Risk Adjustment Coder
- Experience working with healthcare providers
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Medicare Risk Adjustment knowledge
