Clinical Coding Educator

Responsibilities include arranging educational sessions with assigned providers to improve quality of care and documentation, preparing reports and presentations on coding trends and educational outcomes using data visualization, providing onsite education as needed, collaborating with market provider roles, analyzing coding audit results to develop data-driven educational materials, and participating in cross-functional teams to improve documentation, data integrity, and workflow.

This role uses data analytics tools like Excel and Power BI to assess coding quality and monitor compliance.

Work from home with up to 5% travel to provider offices. Requires a dedicated workspace protecting member PHI/HIPAA.

Compensation includes a base salary between $59,300 and $80,900 annually, plus eligibility for bonus incentives based on company and individual performance.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • AHIMA or AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification required
  • 3+ years medical coding education and/or auditing experience in healthcare
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
  • Experience presenting to leadership and healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of Risk Adjustment and coding guidelines
  • Residency in NC, SC, GA, VA, MD, or TN

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC)
  • Experience working with healthcare providers
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Medicare Risk Adjustment knowledge
