As a Clinical Coding Educator at Humana, you will identify opportunities to improve provider documentation and create tailored education plans for assigned providers. Key responsibilities include arranging educational sessions focused on quality of care and documentation improvements, identifying educational needs using reports, preparing detailed reports and presentations on coding quality trends and risk areas using data visualization, providing onsite education based on business needs, collaborating with other provider-facing roles, and using data analytics tools to assess coding quality and monitor compliance. You will analyze coding audit results to develop data-driven educational materials and participate in cross-functional teams to improve documentation, data integrity, and workflow processes.
This is a work-at-home position with occasional travel up to 5% to surrounding provider offices or Humana's offices. The role requires maintaining a dedicated, interruption-free workspace to protect member PHI and HIPAA information. Weekly scheduled hours are 40 per week.

- AHIMA or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
- 3+ years of medical coding education and/or auditing experience in healthcare
- Proficiency with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar) and interpreting large datasets
- Experience in delivering presentations, webinars, or public speaking to healthcare providers and leadership
- Knowledge of risk adjustment and coding guidelines
- Residency in NC, SC, GA, VA, MD, or TN
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC)
- Experience working directly with healthcare providers
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Medicare Risk Adjustment knowledge
