Healthcare Data Analyst

Join us in shaping a healthier future for kids with Children's Hospital Association, a network uniting over 200 member hospitals to advance pediatric care, inform policy, and drive progress.

This role is hybrid based in Lenexa, KS, requiring three days in office and two days optional remote work.

As a Healthcare Data Analyst, you will partner with hospital staff, clinical leaders, and internal stakeholders to analyze and interpret complex clinical, operational, and financial healthcare data. Your insights will drive improvements in patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

Responsibilities include analyzing large datasets to uncover trends, collaborating with subject matter experts, designing tailored analytical solutions, validating data quality, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, supporting data access for hospital staff, and delivering training on data utilization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years healthcare data analysis experience
  • Understanding of hospital operations, revenue cycle, quality outcomes, or clinical workflows
  • Experience working with healthcare claims, EHR extracts, clinical registries, or administrative data
  • Knowledge of healthcare terminologies and classification systems (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED CT, LOINC, etc.)
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency with BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Preferred experience with analytical tools (Python, R, SAS) and EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
  • Familiarity with value-based care, population health, and CMS quality measures
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

  • Familiarity with healthcare terminologies and classifications: ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS, ICD-9-CM, APR-DRGs, MS-DRGs, RBRVS, SNOMED CT, LOINC, RXNorm
  • Strong SQL and database concepts
  • Proficiency with BI platforms like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik
  • Preferred experience: Python, R, SAS or similar analytical tools
  • Preferred familiarity with EHR systems: Epic, Cerner, Meditech
  • Knowledge of value-based care, population health programs, CMS quality measures
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and project management skills
