This position is responsible for timely coding of professional medical services based on provider documentation to ensure compliance with Tulane University MedicalGroup (TUMG) guidelines. Key duties include maintaining knowledge related to billing functions, internal and external regulations, and documentation issues. The role requires independent work and managing large quantities of data accurately. Effective and professional communication with providers, administrators, and staff is essential.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of multispecialty physician services coding experience. Preferred qualifications include CPC or CCS certification, familiarity with revenue cycle management, experience with IDX, Meditech, and EHR systems, proficient computer skills especially with Microsoft Word and Excel, accuracy in keyboarding, excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, initiative, flexibility, and professionalism.
Additional requirements include passing occupational health screenings and background checks as applicable for contact with animals or tissues.
