The Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and driving improvements across all aspects of the revenue cycle to enhance financial performance and minimize revenue leakage. This includes identifying trends, quantifying financial impact, partnering with operational teams for implementation, and ensuring audit defensibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze revenue cycle data across billing, collections, denials, and reimbursement trends.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
- Monitor and improve KPIs such as denial rates, days in accounts receivable, clean claim rate, and point-of-service collections.
- Present actionable insights to leadership and operational teams.
- Identify root causes of denials and payment variances.
- Track payer-specific issues and reimbursement patterns.
- Support denial reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with Patient Access, Coding, Billing, and Compliance teams for workflow improvements.
- Track and report financial improvements from initiatives.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle (Patient Access, Coding, Billing, A/R).
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, payer requirements.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic) and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in revenue cycle, healthcare finance, or data analysis preferred.
