Licensed Professional Counselor

Southern Sky Outpatient Detox

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in substance abuse and mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality therapeutic services. This role involves working with adults facing various problems with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health.

Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling using cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art therapy; conducting comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations; utilizing motivational interviewing; implementing crisis intervention; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; maintaining accurate medical documentation compliant with HIPAA and coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT); facilitating family counseling; offering specialized services such as addiction counseling, grief counseling, and PTSD care; providing direct support for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders; and engaging in clinical research.

Candidates should hold a valid Professional Counselor license (LPC) or equivalent, with preferred experience working with children and families, familiarity with telehealth, knowledge of behavioral therapies and crisis strategies, experience in inpatient or outpatient settings, and proficiency in medical terminology and records management.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent in the state of practice
  • Experience with children and families preferred
  • Familiarity with telehealth practices is a plus
  • Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, crisis management, and patient care protocols
  • Previous inpatient or outpatient experience advantageous
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, and data collection
