We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Crisis Counselor to provide immediate support and intervention for individuals experiencing emotional distress or crisis situations. This role requires the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, demonstrating empathy and professionalism while ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
Responsibilities include providing crisis intervention and support, performing biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning and monitoring, counseling individuals requiring complex intervention, advocacy, participation in treatment teams, clinical assessments of behavioral health needs, referrals to community resources, designing behavioral or therapeutic interventions, monitoring service provision, managing caseloads, and maintaining high standards in documentation through internal audits.
Skills required include proficiency in psychotherapy techniques and crisis management strategies, knowledge of acute care settings and protocols, familiarity with medical terminology, ICD and CPT coding, HIPAA compliance, understanding of developmental disabilities, experience with behavioral therapy approaches like applied behavior analysis (ABA), group therapy facilitation, and excellent communication skills for patient care and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

- Current professional licensure in the State of Georgia
