Equipoise Healthcare is a trusted pediatric clinic dedicated to compassionate, high-quality healthcare for children and families. This in-office role combines medical coding, billing, claims management, prior authorization coordination, and real-time medical scribing within a pediatric clinical environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for pediatric encounters including well-child visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, acute and chronic conditions, and behavioral health
- Review and query provider documentation for completeness and coding accuracy
- Identify and submit prior authorizations related to referrals and other services
- Submit clean claims, verify insurance eligibility, investigate denials, post payments, and manage accounts receivable
- Coordinate referrals and prior authorization processes including appeals
- Provide real-time medical scribing support during encounters capturing comprehensive documentation
- Collaborate with clinical staff and providers, communicate with families about insurance and cost expectations
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical coding, billing, or revenue cycle; pediatric experience preferred
- CPC or CCS certification
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding
- Experience with prior authorization submission, tracking, and appeals
- Medical scribe certification or training
- Familiarity with Medicaid, CHIP, managed care plans
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Proficient with EHR and practice management software
- Strong organizational and communication skills

Requirements & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in medical coding, billing, or revenue cycle; pediatric preferred
- CPC or CCS certification
- Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with prior authorization submission, tracking, appeals, payer communication
- Medical scribe certification or formal training
- Pediatric-specific coding, billing, authorization experience preferred
- Familiarity with Medicaid, CHIP, managed care plans
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Proficiency with EHR and practice management software
