Clinical Coding Educator

Join a caring community as a Clinical Coding Educator, responsible for identifying opportunities to improve provider documentation and creating tailored education plans for assigned providers. Conduct educational sessions aimed at improving quality of care and documentation, analyze coding audit results using data analytics tools like Excel and Power BI, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on coding quality trends and educational outcomes. Collaborate with other provider-facing roles, participate in cross-functional teams to improve documentation and data integrity, and support compliance with internal and external coding standards.

This role reports to the Manager, Medicare Risk Adjustment, and involves occasional travel (up to 5%) to provider offices. Work is primarily remote from a dedicated home space, requiring reliable internet meeting specified speed requirements, with telephone equipment provided by the company.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must hold AHIMA or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification with 3+ years of medical coding education and/or auditing experience in a healthcare setting. Proficiency with data analytics tools and interpreting large datasets is required. Experience presenting to leadership and healthcare providers, knowledge of risk adjustment and coding guidelines, and residence in NC, SC, GA, VA, MD, or TN are required. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), strong Microsoft Office skills, valid driver's license, and Medicare Risk Adjustment knowledge.
