The role supports revenue integrity by reviewing posted charges for accuracy and uses hospital encoding systems effectively. Responsibilities include resolving coding validation and claim edits according to regulations, reviewing coding edits, and assigning modifiers based on billing rules.
Required qualifications include an associate degree or two years college coursework in Health Information Management or equivalent coding experience, or Seattle Children's Apprentice Hospital Coder experience for at least 12 months. Required credentials include AHIMA certifications (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P) or AAPC certifications (CPC, COC, CRC, CPMA). Experience in a pediatric acute care setting is preferred.
This position is 100% remote but only within Washington State.
