Cooper Thomas, LLC is seeking VA experienced Outpatient Medical Coders for full-time and part-time positions. This role supports VA multi-year VHA contracts and involves remote work from home offices.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably with VA or Government contractors supporting VA. The position requires passing an entrance exam, US citizenship, and active credentials as a certified coder.
Coding scope includes multi-specialty outpatient clinic, emergency department, minor procedures, radiology, rehabilitation, and lab encounters using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Familiarity with VHA coding guidelines, E/M leveling and calculator, 3M Encoder use, and medical terminology is essential.
Applicants should have active Background Investigation, COI, PIV Card, eToken, and active VA Contractor Citrix Access or Moonlighter Account.
Accepted credentials include AHIMA RHIA/RHIT, CCS/CCS-P, and AAPC CPC, COC, CPMA.
