We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Billing & Admissions Coordinator to join a healthcare team in a PHP/IOP serving neurodivergent adults. This role involves ensuring accurate medical billing and coordinating insurance claims within a behavioral health setting, as well as managing patient admissions. The candidate should have strong knowledge of billing procedures and electronic health record systems to support efficient patient intake and revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing patient admissions, verifying insurance coverage for out-of-network benefits, and collecting documentation to facilitate timely treatment.
- Contacting insurance companies to establish Single Case Agreements and daily reimbursement amounts.
- Managing insurance claim submissions, tracking claim status, and following up on denials or rejections.
- Conducting collections by following up on outstanding balances with insurance and patients.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of behavioral health terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Developing and maintaining a database to track authorization end dates.
- Collaborating effectively with insurance companies, clinical staff, and patients.
Prior experience in behavioral health billing is preferred.
The position offers a hybrid remote work arrangement in Tarzana, California.
Preferred associate degree. At least 2 years of experience in behavioral health billing preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of insurance billing processes and electronic health records. Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. Experience with contacting insurance carriers and managing collections.
