Audiology Prior Authorization Specialist

Flagstaff Surgical Associates (FSA) is a multi-specialty medical clinic specializing in General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Audiology, and Allergy care, committed to high-quality patient care.

The Audiology Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining authorizations for audiology-related services and in-office procedures to ensure proper insurance verification and reimbursement.

Key responsibilities include verifying insurance eligibility, reviewing authorization requirements, maintaining accurate documentation, submitting authorization requests, monitoring and following up on pending authorizations, coordinating appeals or resubmissions, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

This role also involves billing support, patient communication regarding insurance and financial responsibilities, collaboration with clinical and billing staff, and maintaining efficient workflows.

Qualifications include prior medical prior authorization or insurance verification experience, knowledge of audiology procedures and terminology, proficiency with EMR and office software, strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, excellent communication, and a patient-centered approach.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Previous medical prior authorization or insurance verification experience preferred
  • Knowledge of audiology procedures and medical terminology preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and office software
