Lead Child and Adolescent Therapist

Blackbird Health is a clinician-founded company providing virtual and in-person mental health services for children and young adults in PA, VA, NJ, and growing to new markets in 2026. They take a whole-child approach addressing brain, body, and behavior interaction.

The Lead Child and Adolescent Therapist position is a leadership role based in Frederick, Maryland launching a new clinic. Responsibilities include carrying a clinical caseload, supporting clinical culture, collaborating with leadership, and ensuring high quality care from launch.

The role offers a full-time W-2 position with full benefits and a competitive base salary, including sign-on bonus for founding providers. The work model is hybrid with minimum onsite clinical hours in Frederick and remaining hours remote. Schedule is flexible with emphasis after 3pm weekdays and weekends.

Key impact areas:

• Launching the Frederick clinic as founding clinical leader
• Providing evidence-based individual therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 2-26)
• Leading and mentoring clinical staff
• Developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans
• Collaborating with specialty providers (PMHNPs, OT, SLP)
• Maintaining clinical documentation and partnering with families

Qualifications include independent licensure as LCSW-C, LCPC, or LCMFT in Maryland, minimum 2 years of experience in individual direct care therapy with children/adolescents, telehealth experience, and flexibility for after-school hours.
