Community Recovery Specialist (CRS) provides daily support for residents in a 10-bed long-term structured psychiatric unit. Responsibilities include assisting residents in building skills for independent living such as employment, education, money and medication management, transportation, meal preparation, shopping, housing searches, roommate matching, and social skills development. CRS assists residents with medical appointment transportation and focuses on Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, implementing the phase system, service planning, skill building, goal planning, and community integration. Documentation for groups and individual outings is required. Participation in weekly team meetings, monthly supervision with site lead, and all staff meetings is expected. CRS ensures compliance with all programmatic and corporate procedures and conducts themselves professionally, fairly, and compassionately.
Requirements include a minimum of a high school diploma (bachelor's degree preferred), current and valid driver's license, relevant criminal record clearances, and at least three years of experience working directly with individuals diagnosed with mental health or intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD).
