Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the nation's leading children's hospitals, is seeking an Inpatient Coder to provide accurate and timely assignment of appropriate ICD-10 diagnostic and PCS procedural codes on medical records for inpatient hospital encounters.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities include reviewing medical records, identifying diagnoses and procedures, assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis and ICD-10 PCS procedure codes, abstracting data into network systems per policy, monitoring work queues, coding missed accounts, providing information on problem accounts to the Coding Supervisor, and other duties as assigned.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital inpatient setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification: Must hold at least one of the following: Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, coding guidelines, and computer proficiency
- Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills related to coding
