Registered Nurse Trainer

The Registered Nurse Trainer is responsible for overseeing and implementing nursing services in residential programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders, in compliance with New Hampshire's He-M 1201 regulations. Duties include providing healthcare oversight, developing and delivering medication administration training to non-licensed staff, and ensuring quality health services in community-based residential settings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as licensed nurse trainer under He-M 1201 for assigned residential programs.
  • Train and certify non-licensed residential staff in medication administration, health tasks, and emergency medical procedures.
  • Conduct competency assessments for staff involved in medication administration and health-related tasks.
  • Develop individualized healthcare and medication administration plans aligned with physician orders and individual service agreements.
  • Oversee safe medication administration, documentation, storage, and compliance.
  • Provide nursing consultation to staff, program managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor health status, identify concerns, coordinate care with providers and families.
  • Maintain accurate health records and training documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Stay current on state regulations, best practices, and nursing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in New Hampshire.
  • Completion of state-approved Nurse Trainer (He-M 1201) orientation.
  • Preferred 2+ years nursing experience, preferably in developmental services, behavioral health, or long-term care.
  • Strong teaching and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between sites.

Preferred:

  • Experience in residential or community-based settings with developmental disabilities or brain disorders.
  • Familiarity with New Hampshire developmental services system and He-M 1000 rules.
  • CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification preferred.

Working conditions:

  • Frequent travel to residential sites across New Hampshire.
  • Combination of office, on-site, and remote work.
  • On-call availability may be required.

Requirements & Qualifications
