Respiratory Therapist, Home Medical Equipment PAP Specialist

The Respiratory Therapist HME PAP Specialist provides clinical support and care to oxygen, positive airway pressure, and ventilator patients. Responsibilities include setting up and educating patients on respiratory equipment as prescribed, completing necessary documentation timely, assessing patient respiratory needs and establishing care plans, monitoring patient compliance, verifying and entering patient data, troubleshooting equipment issues, managing inventory stock levels, understanding insurance coverage criteria, staying updated on respiratory products, and participating in on-call after-hours roles.

Schedule is Monday-Friday with flexible hours between 32 to 40 hours per week during the day shift.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, two years of related experience or equivalent education/experience, certification as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist, licensure in Wisconsin and/or Illinois, and approved CPR or BLS certification. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for those driving Mercyhealth or personal vehicles.

The role requires physical abilities such as frequent reaching, standing, walking, occasional sitting, and lifting/moving up to 100 pounds.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
  • Two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Licensed by the State of Wisconsin and/or the State of Illinois
  • Approved CPR or BLS Certification
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Good mathematical and interpersonal skills
