Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of multi-specialty coding experience.
- Proficient in coding Professional services, and/or Outpatient professional and hospital technical services.
- Experience with communicating, training, and educating providers in proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of coding guidelines, anatomy and physiology, biology and microbiology, medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Experience in Obstetrics and Women's Specialties in outpatient or clinic settings.

Job Summary:
Properly codes and audits professional services for inpatient and/or hospital outpatient technical services across multiple specialties to ensure accuracy and optimal reimbursement from third-party payers.
Essential Functions:
- Review documentation in EPIC and paper records to assign ICD-10-CM, PCS and CPT codes.
- Communicate with education teams and providers for documentation clarification queries.
- Use encoder and Optum software for correct code assignment.
- Sequence diagnoses and procedures to generate clean claims per coding guidelines.
- Verify ADT information on charge sessions.
- Participate in coding education sessions.
- Obtain required CEUs and complete continuing education.
- Manage coding-related charge reviews and claim edits for timely billing.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards to adhere to compliance and federal regulations.
- Address charge reconciliation to ensure timely capture of all services provided.
- Adhere to internal controls and reporting structures.
Work Environment:
Standard office environment with remote flexibility following training. Occasional travel may be required. Standard office equipment used.
