Responsible for accurately and efficiently entering medical data into computer databases, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and maintaining record integrity and confidentiality.
Under supervision of Pathology department leadership, performs clerical functions including logging in, processing, and filing specimens, and timely reporting of lab results.
Acts as a technical resource regarding pathology reference lab tests for physicians and lab users.
Supports Precision Medicine Program for genetic testing and reporting.
Interprets and inputs lab results and medical documents into EMR and LIS Meditech systems.
Monitors data entry accuracy, maintains organized records, adheres to data entry rules and quality standards.
Communicates discrepancies to medical staff and assists in data entry projects.
Requires ability to multitask with high accuracy, troubleshoot data issues, and collaborate with team members.
Minimum education: high school required; associate degree in health-related field preferred.
Minimum experience: two years lab or hospital experience in related field.

Knowledge of medical terminology, histology/pathology terminology preferred. Experience with hospital procedures and medical documents. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient data confidentiality. Effective oral and written communication skills. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks under minimal supervision. Basic Microsoft Office computer skills; experience with data entry software. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
