About the role
Meduit is hiring an Insurance Specialist to support hospital and physician billing operations by resolving insurance processing errors, denials, and claims-related issues. This role focuses on helping ensure accurate and timely payments by working with patients, payers, and internal revenue cycle teams.
Key responsibilities
- Reduce outstanding accounts receivable by managing claims inventory
- Communicate professionally with patients and insurance companies about outstanding balances
- Gather, verify, and update patient and payer information
- Assist with registrations, referrals, pre-authorizations, eligibility, and financial responsibility determinations
- Provide customer service for questions related to benefits, billing, claims, and payments
- Use revenue cycle systems and databases to support eligibility verification, pre-authorizations, medical necessity review, and account updates
- Explain charges, policies, procedures, and available financial resources
- Work with Claims and Collections to support billing and payment activities
Schedule and work location
- Remote position
- Multiple shifts available between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM Pacific Time (6:30 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Time), Monday through Friday
- Paid training for 3 weeks
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of denials management experience
- 2+ years of medical billing and follow-up experience
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Proficiency with PC-based applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Minimum internet speeds of 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
- Access to a secure and private workspace for handling protected health information
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- No visa sponsorship available
- Must not reside in New York state
