The Claims Specialist ensures patient account and claim information is complete and accurate to support timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. This role monitors daily electronic claims transmission, researches and resolves system and clearinghouse claim rejections, and works to reduce denials and billing errors.
The position is responsible for ensuring claims are accurate and compliant with government rules and regulations. It also coordinates billing activities across registration, edits, and follow-up, and communicates with insurance companies, government payers, hospital staff, physicians, patients, and others to resolve patient accounts.
2 years of experience in a healthcare business setting, or related education in lieu of experience.
1 year of experience using the EPIC platform.
1 year of successful customer service experience working with patients and insurers.
