The Patient Accounts Representative supports the reduction of accounts receivable by handling a variety of patient account and revenue cycle tasks. This role assists patients with billing and financial questions, responds to correspondence, processes billing and re-billing, manages certain denial issues, handles A/R credits, and monitors trends.
The position is remote with occasional travel to Oceanport, NJ as needed, and the employee must reside in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or New York.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare collections, with a focus on appeals
- Hospital billing experience
- Strong knowledge of patient accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of healthcare contracts
- Ability to work in a team environment requiring quick turnaround and quality output
