The Risk Adjustment Coder supports prospective, retrospective, and concurrent chart reviews using Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) risk adjustment coding. This role helps improve documentation accuracy, supports quality care delivery, and works closely with providers and office staff to educate, review charts, and identify coding opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3+ years of ICD-10 coding experience
- 3+ years of Medicare risk adjustment coding experience
- 2+ years of prospective, concurrent, or retrospective risk adjustment review experience
- 1+ year of provider education experience
- 1+ year of CPT and E/M coding experience
- 1+ year of outpatient primary care coding experience
- CPC, CPMA, CRC, CCS-P, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification required
- Associate degree required
- Experience with Elation EMR preferred
