Medical Coding and Billing Instructor

The Medical Coding and Billing Instructor delivers competency-based education aligned with CHCP's curriculum model. This role supports a learning environment focused on student success, professional growth, and industry alignment.

The instructor prepares students for the evolving healthcare marketplace by teaching the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in medical coding and billing roles.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver competency-based education through residential and blended formats
  • Develop instructional plans aligned with course competencies and lesson objectives
  • Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages active student participation
  • Promote mutual respect, lifelong learning, and ethical practices
  • Integrate real-world industry experience into the curriculum
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and reporting records
  • Participate in faculty, departmental, and school-wide meetings
  • Contribute to campus service and special project committees
  • Attend advisory committee meetings and support program development
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Certificate, degree, or post-secondary education with relevant experience meeting state and accreditation requirements
  • One to two years of experience in instruction or formalized education, preferably at the post-secondary or college level
  • Certification, registry, and/or licensure in the field of instruction as recognized by state regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations
  • Membership in a professional association related to the area of instruction is preferred
