Position summary
The Validation Representative, Motor Vehicle Accident supports the preparation, insurance verification, and retrieval of medical records and documents needed for timely filing or re-adjudication of motor vehicle accident claims. This role primarily communicates with outside parties by phone and helps move claim-related work through the department efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Contact employers, insurers, and other outside entities by phone, email, or fax to verify or obtain information related to motor vehicle accident claims
- Manage inbound and outbound calls efficiently
- Assist with supporting claim documentation, billing packet preparation, and filing insurance claims
- Help move work through the department as part of a team
- Support research and other internal teams as needed
- Use multiple systems to complete accurate and timely data entry
- Handle confidential documentation and patient health information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- 1 year of medical bill processing experience desired
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills
- Experience with electronic document management in a healthcare setting desired
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to handle large volumes of work with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize with limited supervision
