Programmer Analyst I

Hybrid role (3 days/week in office) at Cambia offices in Portland, Medford, Fargo, Burlington, Spokane, Vancouver, Renton, Boise, Lewiston, or Salt Lake City. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the selected location.

This role is part of the Actuarial team and focuses on technical, analytical, support, and leadership functions that help the division and company meet their goals. The Programmer Analyst I develops programming solutions based on business requirements across multiple areas of the organization.

The position involves building reports, programs, and models; interpreting business needs; writing code or configuration; documenting development work; and supporting testing and debugging efforts. The role also collaborates with internal and external clients and contributes to peer review processes.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with possible local or out-of-state travel and occasional work outside normal hours.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Operational Technology Management, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of job-related work experience

Skills and attributes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentations
  • Familiarity with relational databases and client-server concepts
  • Experience with ETL, SQL coding, and reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently on complex analytical tasks
  • Ability to design efficient program and system solutions
  • Experience with coding, testing, debugging, and configuration/programming analysis
  • Ability to work with users to clarify objectives and operating procedures
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and methodologies
  • Ability to negotiate business intelligence solutions across conflicting stakeholder needs
  • Understanding of business process improvement, risk management, and software testing
  • Knowledge of health care and health care business processes is a plus
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies to improve productivity and decision-making is highly desired

Compensation

  • Expected hiring range in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: $84,200 - $113,900
  • Full salary range in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: $79,000 - $129,000
  • Bonus target: 10%
  • North Dakota range also provided for eligible candidates
