Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Medical Records Coordinator I to join the Medical Records Team.
This role supports the clinic medical records function and is responsible for maintaining accurate clerical and records-related work, including pulling records for other departments or individuals, electronically filing records, preparing copies upon request, scanning records, ensuring authorization for record releases, reviewing records for completeness, obtaining necessary signatures from physicians and practitioners, filing correspondence and other documents, and assisting with mailing correspondence from the business office. The position works closely with other departments to ensure patient charts and information are complete for treatment and requires professionalism, confidentiality, patience, and tact.
Qualifications and preferred experience
- Eligibility for employment in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for growth and advancement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, integrated databases, and related functions
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Two years of clerical experience required
