- Scan, index, and file non-electronic medical and administrative documents and forms.
- Maintain daily logs of documents scanned, filed, and indexed.
- Respond to information requests in a positive and efficient manner.
- Perform qualitative reviews of work completed by self and other scanned documents.
- Support accurate, complete, and accessible patient records within the health information workflow.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
- GS-5: Either 4 years of education above high school related to the position, or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-4.
- GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5.
- Specialized experience includes reviewing medical records for completeness, scanning/indexing/filing records, quality control checks, processing release of information requests, maintaining tracking logs, retrieving and archiving records, and communicating with healthcare staff.
- Must comply with HIPAA and Privacy Act requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Background investigation required.
- Financial suitability review required.
- May be subject to probationary period.
- Work schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and 24/7 coverage.
