In this role, you will handle medical records support functions, including scanning, indexing, filing, and maintaining non-electronic medical and administrative documents. You will also maintain document logs, respond to information requests, and perform quality reviews to help ensure accurate and complete patient records.
This position is in a federal healthcare setting and may include 24/7, holiday, and weekend schedules.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- GS-5: 4 years of education above high school related to the position, or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-4.
- GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5.
- Experience with health information management support functions, including reviewing medical records for completeness.
- Experience preparing, scanning, indexing, and filing medical documentation into electronic health record systems.
- Experience conducting quality control or quality assurance checks on scanned records.
- Experience processing requests for release of information in accordance with privacy requirements.
- Experience maintaining medical record tracking logs and retrieving or archiving records.
- Ability to communicate with healthcare providers and staff to maintain accurate and complete patient records.
