Medical Records Coordinator I

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Medical Records Coordinator I to join its Medical Records Team.

The Medical Records Coordinator I supports the clinic medical records function and is responsible for ensuring that clerical duties are completed accurately. Duties include pulling medical records for other departments and individuals as requested, electronically filing medical records, preparing copies of medical records, scanning records, ensuring requests for copies are authorized and approved for release, reviewing records for completeness, facilitating required signatures from physicians and practitioners, filing correspondence and other documents accurately, and assisting with mailing correspondence from the business office.

This role works closely with other departments to ensure patient charts and information are complete for treatment. The position requires professionalism, strong confidentiality practices, excellent customer service, and the ability to work under stress with patience and tact.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications and preferred experience

  • Must demonstrate eligibility for employment in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for growth and advancement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office, integrated databases, and related functions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Two years of clerical experience required
