Ensure that all health information managed within the Health Information Management (HIM) department meets legal, medical, and ethical standards. Maintain medical records so they are accurate, complete, and timely.
Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Required

- Ability to troubleshoot computer or system issues with IT during downtime situations
- Ability to work under minimal supervision while maintaining quality and productivity
- Ability to safeguard patient records and comply with HIPAA standards
Preferred
- 1+ year of Health Information Management experience
- 1+ year of office, clerical, or computer experience
- Experience with Master Patient Index (MPI) maintenance and control
- Experience processing admissions and release of information/verbal requests
- Cerner experience preferred
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
