Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians (JHRP) supports community providers delivering health care in convenient locations for patients. The organization provides centralized services, oversight, and technological infrastructure through Johns Hopkins Medicine.
This part-time medical records role is responsible for completing medical records requests, maintaining the fax bucket, importing and distributing faxes accurately and on the same day, logging and returning voice messages per protocol, and completing medical records releases and in-office requests within three business days. The position also handles FMLA, disability, and school medication requests according to current protocol, imports video-strobe images from memory sticks for speech pathology before the next appointment, and manages mailing, scanning, and tasking of physician labs, MRIs, CT results, and other documents in a timely manner.
The schedule is 23 hours per week:
- Monday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Staff must be available during the scheduled hours. Employees typically work an 8-hour shift with a 1-hour break.
Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of experience in a medical record setting and/or one year with the company preferred
- Ability to maintain clerical error rate standards
- Ability to perform medical records processing tasks accurately and in a timely manner
