Health Information Specialist I

Datavant is a healthcare data collaboration platform focused on making health data secure, accessible, and actionable. This role supports release of information (ROI) operations by processing medical record requests accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.

The position is full-time, onsite in Tulsa, OK, and involves working in a high-volume production environment with multiple systems and computer monitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing patient health information and medical record requests
  • Protecting patient privacy and maintaining confidentiality
  • Managing patient health records and medical record assembly
  • Creating digital images for electronic medical records
  • Responding to internal and external record requests
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls, walk-ins, faxes, mail, and data entry as needed
  • Meeting productivity and quality expectations
  • Supporting additional duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused approach to medical records and compliance
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare environment
  • Previous production- or metric-based work experience
  • In-person customer service experience
  • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers
