Medical Records Coordinator I

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Medical Records Coordinator I to join the Medical Records Team.

This role supports the clinic medical records function and is responsible for clerical duties related to maintaining complete and accurate patient records. Responsibilities include pulling medical records for other departments or individuals as requested, electronically filing records, preparing copies, scanning documents, verifying authorization for record releases, reviewing records for completeness, obtaining necessary physician and practitioner signatures, filing correspondence and other documents accurately, and assisting with mailing correspondence from the business office.

The position works closely with other departments to ensure patient charts and information are complete for treatment. The role requires professionalism, confidentiality, excellent customer service, and strong communication skills while working under pressure with patience and tact.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications and preferred experience

  • Eligibility for employment in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for personal growth and advancement
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office, integrated databases, and related functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Two years of clerical experience required
