Datavant is a healthcare data collaboration platform focused on making health data secure, accessible, and actionable. The company supports organizations across the healthcare ecosystem, including providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies.
This role works on-site at one location in Port Charlotte, FL, in a high-volume production environment. The position involves processing medical record requests, documenting information across multiple systems, and supporting patient health information workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and processing requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies and procedures
- Maintaining confidentiality and security of privileged information
- Managing patient health records and safeguarding records in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Preparing new patient charts by gathering documents from paper sources and electronic health records
- Ensuring medical records are assembled accurately and completely
- Creating digital images of paperwork for storage in the electronic medical record
- Responding to requests for patient records from internal and external sources
- Answering inbound and outbound calls
- Assisting with patient walk-ins when needed
- Supporting administrative duties such as fax handling, opening mail, and data entry
- Meeting productivity expectations and assisting with additional duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
- Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when required
- Basic computer proficiency
- Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and quality in handling medical records information
- Strong data entry skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a changing, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
- Previous production- or metric-based work experience preferred
- In-person customer service experience preferred
