This role is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position supporting a medical or health services environment. The Medical Records Clerk performs clerical and administrative duties related to health records, appointment scheduling, medical billing review, purchasing requests, phone coverage, filing, typing, and database updates.
Primary responsibilities include reviewing health records for completeness, scheduling appointments for students with healthcare staff on and off center, reviewing medical bills from off-center providers for accuracy, resolving discrepancies, preparing purchase requests for pharmaceuticals and subcontractor bills, and handling general office support tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a complex clerical capacity preferred
- Training in a medical clerical field preferred
- Experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check required
