Health Information Specialist I

Datavant is a healthcare data collaboration platform focused on making health data secure, accessible, and actionable. The company supports providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences organizations across the healthcare ecosystem.

This role is an entry-level position responsible for processing release of information (ROI) requests, specifically medical record requests, in a timely and accurate manner. The position is onsite in St. Louis, MO and supports the secure handling, retrieval, and transmission of patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and company/facility policies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing medical record requests and responding to requests for patient health information
• Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding patient privacy
• Managing patient health records and ensuring records are complete and accurate
• Creating digital images and organizing records in the electronic medical record
• Answering inbound and outbound calls and assisting with walk-ins
• Supporting administrative tasks such as fax handling, mail, and data entry
• Meeting productivity expectations in a high-volume environment
