Responsible for supporting the ACI team by compiling member medical records, submitting requests through secure fax and encrypted file methods, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, organizational policies, and state/federal regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gathering, processing, maintaining, and safeguarding medical records
- Managing medical record requests for subpoenas, pharmaceutical matters, Texas Medical Board requests, and health plan audits
- Reviewing records for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Supporting HEDIS, CMS Star, and RADV audit preparation and reporting
- Producing routine and special reports and assisting with administrative tasks
- Providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting with patient scheduling and other special projects as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Required and preferred qualifications:
- 2+ years of healthcare experience in coding, claims, clinical documentation, or related clinical healthcare work
- 1+ year of experience using an electronic health record, e-faxing system, and email
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines and medical terminology preferred
- Strong background in medical records retrieval
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks, Epic, and Allscripts preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma required; HIT certificate or associate degree/RHIT preferred
