HealthMark Group is hiring an onsite Medical Records Processing Specialist in Russellville, AR. This entry-level role supports release of information (ROI) and medical records processing operations for healthcare clients.
The position focuses on handling incoming ROI requests accurately and efficiently, validating requests for PHI release, performing quality checks, scanning requests into charts, maintaining queues, and supporting clients, patients, and requestors by phone.
The role requires strong attention to confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Complete incoming ROI requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain 100% ROI accuracy
- Complete STAT requests within one hour and maintain a 24-hour turnaround for other requests
- Keep queues current
- Validate requests and authorize release of PHI according to established procedures
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing
- Maintain confidentiality, security, and ethical standards for medical records information
- Complete legal affidavits and questions as needed
- Scan ROI requests into charts
- Follow HealthMark and client ROI policies
- Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work area
- Update facility guides as needed
- Communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent service
- De-escalate patient complaints as needed
- Assist clients, patients, and requestors with the status of medical records requests by phone
