This role supports a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation/sub-acute care nursing center by handling medical records and related administrative support.
Responsible for record keeping and medical records management for a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation/sub-acute care nursing center.
- Prepare charts for new admissions
- Close medical records upon discharge
- Maintain physician’s orders and visit schedules
- Audit records to ensure compliance with center policies, professional standards, and state and federal laws/regulations for long-term care facilities
- Assist nursing management with recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling of staff
- Distribute and track central supplies
Qualifications:
- Clear and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure in the state of practice
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience reading and interpreting medical terminology required
- Proficiency using Microsoft Windows, computer-based programs, and internet-based applications required
- Prior experience in medical records or a related healthcare support position in LTC/skilled nursing preferred
